As a volunteer member of the Whitesboro Volunteer Fire Department, you will have the honor of serving your community in emergencies. Additionally, all members work with other highly dedicated volunteers and interact with numerous local, state, and national fire and rescue organizations, including the Firefighters Association of the State of New York (FASNY). Interested volunteers should bring a passion for the mission and a desire to make a difference. We invite you to join our team.

Whitesboro Volunteer Fire Department is looking for motivated and dedicated individuals to join and help serve our community and is actively recruiting for the following positions.

Firefighter

Firefighters and Firefighter/EMTs are usually among the first to be dispatched to fire and rescue calls to provide essential emergency aid. The Whitesboro Volunteer Fire Department responds to calls ranging from car accidents to structural fires, routine service calls to major disasters.

Emergency Medical Services

Emergency Medical Service volunteers provide pre-hospital care to patients experiencing trauma, severe injury, or illness that requires immediate emergency care.

Fire Police

Fire Police mitigate traffic flow to ensure our emergency vehicles have a quick, safe entrance and exit to the incident.

Junior Firefighter

Junior members provide opportunities for career development, leadership experience, life skills, and character education. Department officers offer hands-on training and experience in fire and emergency operations while serving our community.

Operations & Scene Support

Support membership is available for applicants who do not wish or may not be able to participate as a firefighter or first responder operations but still want to serve. Operations & Scene support members are essential in providing emergency response.
